The read
By every controllable measure Alex runs the best operation in the league. He has made 41 trades, most by a wide margin, has spent the most on waivers since 2021, and has lost just 10 games with a better lineup on his bench, the cleanest lineup record of any manager with five seasons. The output mostly follows: an 80 percent playoff rate, a 10-game win streak across 2024 and 2025, and 2,024.70 points last season, the second-highest total in history.
He is also the league's Jets fan, which may be where the patience comes from. No Jet appears on his long-tenure list. All of it has produced one bronze. He is 4-5 in the playoffs despite the attendance, and nothing in the underlying numbers explains it. One caution from the ledger: the 2025 fleece of the year was Sobi taking him for a 168-point swing. Trading that often means sometimes being on the wrong end.
